Instead of completely demolishing this detached 1970s property, the architect preserved the foundation and skeleton of the original structure and gave it a contemporary makeover. The architectural concept was to keep the design clear, crisp and transparent.
An additional of 83 sq m of space was added to the original 700 sq m property to accommodate a large living & dining area, 1 guest room, 5 bedrooms and a maid’ quarters.
Bridging past and present, we incorporated the client’s collection of modern European and antique Chinese furniture. TID worked in tandem with Architect, RT+Q from the beginning to ensure that the interiors blend harmoniously with the architecture. We chose a palette of natural hues and earth tones so that the house looks as one from both inside and outside.
